New Patients at Gentle Family Chiropractic
Gentle Family Chiropractic welcomes you to our friendly, modern office. We are ready to take our time to listen to you and determine how best to help you.
Initial Examination
When you arrive at our clinic, you will be greeted by our energetic staff and you will be asked to complete the necessary new patient paperwork. Your doctor will take your full medical history and perform a thorough examination, which includes:
- A neurological examination
- An orthopaedic examination
- Muscle strength testing
If needed, a bulk-billed radiology clinic located across the road can take x-rays to further examine your condition.
Your first treatment is included in this visit. You may wear your regular clothes, as we provide a gown to change into if necessary. An hour is needed in total for this appointment.
Follow-up Sessions
On average, each session will take about 20 minutes. A re-examination may be done after a few visits, which will take a bit longer. This review will make sure you are responding and improving with treatment.
Length of Treatment
The number of visits needed will depend on your condition. Everyone is different! If you have experienced a new injury, we seek to achieve a full recovery quickly. There is then no further need for treatment. There are conditions, however, that are longstanding and chronic, such as fibromyalgia or arthritis. You may need preventative care in the future to keep your problems from reccurring.
Learning Resources
You will have active care at home so that you do not become dependent on our treatment. We will give you different types of exercises and other printed educational material that focuses on your care. We also offer information on different diseases and conditions and how to control or prevent them.
Immediate Relief
We’ll begin relief immediately at your first visit, keeping your comfort a priority and ensuring you can return to your daily activities as quickly as possible. After you’re free from discomfort, our principal focus is to provide healthcare that helps you maintain your wellbeing.
